Founder : Officiant : Wedding Planner : Ukulele Player
Laura is a romantic at heart and founded Say Yes Alaska in 2019. With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry she has been working with couples starting their journey together and finds joy in every new beginning. She is thrilled to expand the Say Yes network celebrating with couples in New England! Planning a ceremony or micro wedding in New England or Alaska, Laura is working coast to coast spreading love and joy!
Having received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut she had a rewarding career as a counselor in New England where she was born and raised. Her adventurous spirit brought her north where she has embraced the outdoor lifestyle and experiences Alaska has to offer.
Commitment to community is important to Laura who has previously served as a Rotary President, volunteered for arts and youth organizations and shared Alaska with visitors through her work as a guide.
Planning and executing weddings and events in remote locations requires vision and moxie. An intimate ceremony, elopement, gala or tasting event for 500 or more Laura and the Say Yes! team takes your experience from concept to completion creating dynamic and memorable moments.
Location, location, location. Challenging locations are her forte -coastal beaches, meadows, mountaintops, glaciers or remote wilderness lodges are a few of her favorites. Transforming an airplane hangar, ballroom or banquet hall is equally exciting for creating unparalleled events!
A 5th grade school dance put Laura on the path to planning celebrations and events and she has never looked back. She looks forward to working with you to create a memorable celebration!
Kerry Quade
Officiant : Floral Maven : Designer : Dreamer
With maps of Alaska and other far flung destinations on her walls growing up in New England, Kerry dreamed of exploring the Alaskan glaciers and mountains one day. Dreams do come true and every day she is thankful for the opportunity to explore her chosen home state.
Having spent over 25 years in the floral and event industry Kerry has designed multi-disciplinary experiences for 2 to 2000 and enjoys the challenges of working in remote locations. It all started at the age of 16 when she planned a surprise 40th birthday party for her mother. Who knew it would turn into a lifelong career of creating celebrations!
Having been a part of many weddings over the years it has been wonderful to follow couples as they grew their families & had their own adventures. On more than one occasion Kerry has been a part of a couples wedding followed years later by their son or daughter’s Mitzvah. Designing both a Mitzvah and Wedding is not uncommon as she has been a part of family celebrations throughout their lives.
Officiating weddings was a natural progression in Kerry’s career as she enjoys the journey in life. Being a part of the ceremony and seeing couples pledge their love for each other at the start of their new path together is a joy.
Kerry’s passion for community and civic duty is a cornerstone in her everyday life. She lends her expertise as a Fundraising Consultant working with organizations to create and implement effective short and long term strategies to develop donor relationships as well as achieve fundraising goals through technology, social media, event activations and experiences both onsite and virtually. She has served as a trustee on a local civic council, volunteered on political campaigns and has lent her time and expertise to youth & arts organizations successfully friend & fund-raising.
As a recent graduate of Alaska Pacific University she has settled in Girdwood, Alaska and enjoys sharing the landscape and lifestyle with visitors.
